The scissors tip is resting against the top edge of a nodule of endometriosis of the right uterosacral ligament. The shaft of the scissors is about 3 mm in diameter, so this nodule is almost 1 cm thick. It would be very difficult to destroy all of this nodule with laser vaporization, and it would be impossible to destroy this nodule with electrocoagulation. The back of the uterus (U) has other areas of subtle (circle) as well as obvious (arrow) endometriosis.
