British Publisher Releases New Endometriosis Book Edited by Oregon Physician England's Martin Dunitz publishing, a member of The Taylor & Francis Group, recently released a new book called Surgical Management of Endometriosis, compiled and edited by gynecologist David B. Redwine, MD. Dr. Redwine is an internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of endometriosis, a disease that affects more than five million American women. Redwine practices in Bend, Oregon and heads the Endometriosis Treatment Program at St. Charles Medical Center - Bend. The program draws patients from throughout the United States as well as from other countries. The book is being marketed in the United States by Taylor & Francis member CRC Press. It is available at www.crcpress.com . The book retails for $129.95. The book includes work from eight primary contributors in the US, England and Australia. While it is aimed at physicians and medical professionals, Dr. Redwine says the book provides a great deal of information that would be useful for women seeking information about the disease and its treatment. "A lot of women with this disease have already developed a pretty sophisticated knowledge base around endometriosis," Redwine explains. "So this information, while clinically focused, should make sense to many lay readers." Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue similar to that normally found inside the uterus appears elsewhere in the pelvis and adjacent areas of the body. Its primary symptom is pain. It can also interfere with fertility. Dr. Redwine has specialized in the diagnosis and surgical
treatment of endometriosis since 1978. He has published numerous articles
in peer reviewed journals, routinely presents at international conferences
on the topic and is considered a leading expert in the field. For more
